Hello to all CCRS Members and Valued Volunteers
The 23rd Annual Spring Auction of 100 roses will be presented on Sunday April 16th at the El Corazon Community Center in Oceanside, CA. John has once again outdone himself with the truly extraordinary rare and unusual roses he has amassed.
This Auction’s featured rose is Lemon Chiffon, hybridized by Herb Swim in 1954.  Forty years ago it was ruled extinct by the ARS. Incredibly, the rose was discovered with its original, intact and legible 50 year old ID tag still attached and the collector notified John. If anyone finds a rare rose in their collection or knows of one, please contact John so that it can be propagated and preserved.
The Auction could not happen without our volunteers. You always do an AMAZING JOB and are responsible for making these events so successful and fun for everyone. We would like to encourage all our members to participate. Please let us know how you would like to help.
The schedule and available volunteer opportunities are as follows:
  • 7:00 am: Meet for set-up of tables, moving of plants, labeling of plants, final grooming of plants and setting out bid sheets
  • Set up tables for computers, taking of payments and instructional materials
