Cliff Orent is president of the Desert Rose Society as well as newsletter editor. Having planted his first rose in 2001, Cliff's collection now numbers close to 6,000 roses, including about 2,000 seedlings from his hybridizing efforts. He will co-chair the 2009 ARS Fall National Convention which will be held in Palm Springs for the first time. Active in preservation efforts, he is also a member of the World Federation of Rose Societies' Specialized Conservation Committee. If you're an exhibitor, you've likely seen Cliff arrive at rose shows with his van filled to the brim with unusual varieties.
Cliff is a Consulting Rosarian and he has shared two of his Award of Merit winning articles with us.......Hoplia Beetles and Importing Roses.
Web Designer note: Cliff Orent is truly a renaissance man. He has tapped into areas of roses unlike anyone else from growing thousands of roses in the desert to importing rare varieties to quickly rising to the top as a show exhibitor. He is also one of the owners of the very successful and stimulating forum on the world wide web, The Rosarians Corner.
