CCRS is pleased to announce the January 2010 Lecture entitled �Soil, Irrigation and Fertilizers� will be given by Dr Roger English. Roger has held multiple offices in both the San Diego Rose Society where he is Immediate Past President and The East County Rose Society. He is a Master Gardener as well. He is a retired Physician having practiced Internal Medicine for many years in La Mesa. It was my pleasure to practice at the same hospital along with Roger. He possessed a superior fund of medical knowledge, displayed thorough and thoughtful analysis of medical problems and consistently gave meticulous care to his patients. These traits and talents are evident in his Rose Horticulture as well. His delightful tiered rose garden is constructed along a canyon that adjoins the rear of his property. There he produces gorgeous roses that he graciously shares with the rest of us at various shows. If I were to choose an appropriate old time commercial to advertise this talk, I would paraphrase the bygone E F Hutton television spot to counsel, �When Roger speaks, others listen�. Do come to hear Roger provide important insights based upon careful and reasoned analysis of these basic but crucially important horticultural topics.
