- "I love gardening. I love growing from seeds and bulbs and get so excited when they start growing. I love roses.....their beauty, their fragrance, their long growing seasons. I love to grow herbs and vegetables, and even citrus, that I use in cooking and baking. I find it joyful. I joined CCRS because when we moved here 7 years ago and planted roses, I found they had problems I did not encounter in Sherman Oaks (Los Angeles area). Things like rust, mildew, blackspot. I thought that a few meetings at CCRS would teach me how to grow roses in this new climate. And 5 years later...I am still learning!"

- I love Mr. Lincoln. The fragrance is divine and the dark green leaves are the perfect background for the dark red blooms. Unfortunately I can't grow it where I live - close to the beach - as it is not disease resistant.
- I enjoy traveling. In June 2007, I spent a week on a small ship (62 passengers) traveling through Alaska's inside passage. I have three children and six grandchildren, all of whom I adore.
